For me, movies are all about how it makes me feel. When you start liking a movie for the ‘feel’ it gives you, you won't mind watching it even for the 1000th time. There is a whole bunch of such movies in my fav list from VTV to Tangled to Intern to Yeh Jawane Hey Diwane and the list goes on.

Vaaranam Aayiram is one such movie. I know its too late to be writing about a movie that was released in 2008, in 2021, but as the saying goes it's never too late :)

I love this movie specifically for how it takes ‘goals’ to a whole new level — be it couple goals, father-son goals, friendship goals, mother-son goals — this movie sets the perfect benchmark.

Gautham Menon is a magician. Period. He knows how to work out the magic. If you watch his movies back to back, you will find a lot of similar types of scenes and dialogues, but everything has its own feel.

The protagonist of this blog is Malini and Krishnan! If all the couples are like them, then the world will be a much better place to live (ok, let's not even get to the utopian dreams :P).

Though Malini is too good to be true, the emphasis is more on Krishnan in the movie. Krishnan is the ‘dream’ lover, father and HUSBAND. No, a perfect husband is not about being flawless but it's all about how you treat one and another.

Personally, I don't believe in either the happily-ever-after or the-hub-wife-dramatic-romance shown in movies, cause those are mostly just filmy. But this movie is so real.

What I love most about the Krishnan-Malini relationship is the way they look at each other. Romance is not about physical connection or intimacy, romance is all about the feeling that you feel when you see each other. (Suriya, Simran and Gautham…Bliss!).

Krishnan is the dream father, giving the best advice to his children at the precise time in their life when they need it and also knowing when to let go of them so they can pursue what they want.

I think I can keep talking about Krishnan and Malini the whole day, but the point of this blog is…

just feeling the feeling of feeling for Gautham movies :P

My take away from this movie — Life is all about wishing for abundance but still feeling content at the very moment!
